2007威尼斯影展競賽片、2007紐約影展開幕片、入選2007台北金馬影展強片片單的「the darjeeling limited」是學院派新銳導演wes anderson的喜劇新作，由奧斯卡金像獎影帝安德烈布洛迪(戰地琴人)、好萊塢笑匠歐文威爾森(西域威龍、衝出封鎖線)、以及傑森薛茲曼(都是愛情惹的禍)飾演個性古怪、近一年未互相連絡的三兄弟，在他們摯愛的父親過世後，決定安排一趟橫跨印度的
火車之旅，企圖探索自我同時藉機重拾兄弟情誼。

filmcritic.com影評chris cabin盛讚本片是wes anderson迄今最棒的作品，大方給予四顆星好評﹔紐約時報影評則形容「the darjeeling limited」宛如精心打造的手工藝品，是部能觸動心靈、引發共鳴的情緒佳作。正片之前還有一支由jason schwartzman、natalie portman(星際大戰)主演、名為「hotel chevalier」的13分鐘短片，natalie portman在片中有令人驚艷的大膽全裸演出。

「the darjeeling limited」除了成熟展現wes anderson揉合幽默喜劇與動人戲劇性、別人難以模仿的電影風格，同時也深刻流露出他獨樹一幟的音樂敏銳度。繼上一部作品 「zissou」配樂全數選用david bowie經典歌曲之後， 「the darjeeling limited」將流行搖滾、古典音樂與印度電影配樂完美交融！已過世的知名印度導演與配樂大師satyajit ray與多才多藝音樂組合shankar jaikishan的早期作品，為電影彩繪道地的印度色彩；由60年代掀起英國british beat風潮的重量級樂團the kinks所演唱，選自樂團’70年暢銷大作「lola versus powerman and the moneygoround, part one」中的三首歌曲“powerman”、“strangers”、“this time tomorrow”，the rolling stones/滾石合唱團的’65年排行曲“play with fire”，以及已故法國流行巨星joe dassin的轟動曲“les champs-elysees”…則巧妙的扮演了勾動情緒的情感催化劑﹔再搭配樂聖貝多芬的交響名曲、與古典鋼琴家alexis weissenberg精湛演奏印象樂派大師德布西的作品，一同交織成這張菜色豐美的電影配樂佳餚！
