一代女伶judy garland/茱蒂嘉兰在1961年4月23日於纽约卡内基音乐厅举行的演唱会，被全美传媒推崇为演艺歌唱界最伟大的一夜！演唱会中她演唱了26首流行金曲，音乐剧名曲以及她所主演的电影主题曲，演唱会实况录音专辑「judy at carnegie hall」在全美流行专辑榜上蝉联13周冠军，更勇夺葛莱美奖年度专辑丶最佳女歌手丶最佳录音与最佳专辑封面设计等4座大奖。加拿大男歌手rufus wainwright在2006年间为了向judy garland致敬，分别在纽约丶伦敦丶巴黎丶洛杉矶展开一连串限定场次的致敬演唱会，并力邀曾在「wicked」丶「avenue q」等百老汇热门大戏中担任音乐总监的音乐家stephen oremus担纲演唱会指挥，与拥有40名乐手编制的管弦乐团合作，荣耀judy garland的歌唱传奇。
演唱会录音专辑【rufus does judy at carnegie hall】是rufus wainwright在2006年6月14丶15两天在纽约卡内基音乐厅进行的向judy garland致敬演唱会精华录音，娱乐周刊形容「这是一场唤起对judy garland令人心碎的传奇地位，还有她对rufus wainwright华丽多姿的流行音乐歌唱风格影响的演出」，纽约时报称赞「这是一场饶富政治风味的表演艺术精心杰作」。rufus筹备致敬演唱会的灵感是在2001年美国发生「911恐怖攻击事件」之後涌现的，他表示自己在judy garland的音乐中找到心灵慰藉，judy的歌声让人暂时忘却美国遭到攻击的伤痛，他希望与每个人分享这样的感觉。
